What is the Physicians' Advisory Board?
The Physicians' Advisory Board is a project of the National Republican Congressional Committee. The Board functions independently from any other organization within the NRCC, but has direct reporting lines to Chairman Tom Cole and other party leaders.
Why has the Physicians' Advisory Board been formed?
Physicians have a wealth of knowledge and expertise, and the Republican Congressional Leadership feels it is critical to seek their support and counsel as they begin to address the critical issues facing the health care system in this country. By enlisting Physicians from every field to serve as members, we can begin to tap into this valuable resource.
What are the Roles of the members?
While there is no obligation of service required, it is hoped that members will welcome the opportunity to get involved in the following ways:
Use of Your Name
As we seek to educate America, and gain acceptance on the need for health care
reform, the use of our member's names will be critically important.
We will try to use your name whenever possible in both our national and local
advertising. (Of course we will also respect the wishes of those who support
our efforts, but who for business or other reasons, do not want to have their
name publicized.)

Advisory Capacity
Members will be invited to participate in periodic strategy sessions. You will have the opportunity to provide input to Party Leaders through private surveys and policy briefings throughout the year.
Invitation to Events
Members will be invited to dinners, receptions, and other party functions, both national and regional. In addition you will be invited to participate in NRCC functions.
Financial Support
The Physicians' Advisory Board and the NRCC will spend millions of dollars building broad-based support for health care reform. Most of these funds will come from the members. It is only with major grassroots support that we will be able to make real changes in the health care system.
